Supporting the children in the affected and vulnerable social groups

A prime concern of the “Foundation for the Child and the Family” is to provide help and support to those children who are not so fortunate and experience conditions not only beyond their power and abilities but also beyond the power of their own parents as well as of the entire social group to which they belong.

For this reason, during the past few years, the “Foundation for the Child and the Family” stood by the side of children born with AIDS, children whose mothers are imprisoned (live in prison) (1999), children affected by earthquakes (1999) and floods (1997), children victims of mines as well as children victims of the war in the Balkans (1999), in Lebanon (2007) and in Palestine.

Moreover, the “Foundation for the Child and the Family” organised the event entitled Children - Symbols of Hope, Will and Courage" in order to honour and support 15 children who fight for life, with will and courage, self-sacrifice and ethics, each one in its own distinct way which is exemplary.
