WORLD CITIZENS' MOVEMENT FOR THE PROTECTION OF INNOCENCE IN DANGER

The World Citizens' Movement for the Protection of Innocence in Danger was "born" inside UNESCO, having as target the protection of children against sexual assault and pedophilia in the Internet. The beginning of 1999 also marked the beginning of the constitution of National Committees in many countries all around the world, Greece being one of them. The initiative for the constitution of the Greek Committee of Citizens for the Protection of Innocence in danger was undertaken by the "Foundation for Child and Family", and there have already been two first meetings of its members in order to draw up a plan of action. The basic targets of the Commission are the following:

The creation of a committee of observation for the problem of sexual assault against children.

The motivation and activation of the citizens so that they could act as source of pressure.

Exercise of influence and intervention on the centers where decisions are taken.

The adjustment of Greek legislation to new elements for the optimization of children's protection.

Fight against undeclared criminality.

Communication and cooperation of professionals in the Internet and of justice with the specialized scientists for the protection of children, as well as with famous personalities and political leaders.

Promotion of proposals-solutions with direct implementation.

Ability of intervention on the sources of the problem all over Greece.
