MOTHERS AND CHILDREN BEHIND BARS
The President of the Foundation for the Child and the Family, following an invitation from the Mayor of Korydallos, visited the women's jail, where babies and small children are obliged to live together with their mothers. Having been informed of the inmates' everyday practical and personal problems, by the mothers, who opened their hearts to her, Mrs Vardinoyannis attempted to respond to as many as possible of their requests.
On her own initiative, and in collaboration with a group of friends of the Foundation, a quantity of badly needed items was gathered together, along with a great number of toys for the creche which operates in the prison, and were delivered to the prisoners.
